Thank You For Holding The Thread.

Wow, I have been overwhelmed by all of the incredibly touching and inspiring notes from friends all over the world. I cannot tell you what a source of comfort it has been and I truly thank you for letting me share this experience with you all. I spent the Christmas Holiday reading your beautiful letters.

I took Don to Florida to see the family last week. My other 3 brothers, their families and my parents were all there. Being a musical family, we jammed every night ‘til the wee hours!

In fact, on Don's birthday we took over the hotel bar and he performed for a real audience for the first time in years.

It was incredibly beautiful. No talk of death, just us all enjoying being alive together. What a lesson in life death can teach us if we are open to it. Based on some of the letters I've gotten, seems many of you already know this all too well. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me.

I truly believe we are all connected and this just proves it.

Thanks again for your love.

Have a Joyful, Peaceful, Wonderful New Year.

See you all very soon.

Love,
Dana

Love To Beg & Live Like There's No Tomorrow: (Record Deal, World Tour & Personal Note)

Dear Friends...

I’m excited to announce that we've signed with Ruf Records for the worldwide release of our new studio album "Love To Beg". We’ll be touring extensively in the US and Europe beginning early 2011. We’ve already had some great press and reviews on this long awaited studio album and I can’t wait to share it with you all soon.

Unfortunately, with this exciting news, I also have some very sad personal news....

I've had to postpone the kick off of the tour, which was scheduled to begin January 21st in Hamburg, Germany.

My oldest brother, whom many of you know as the Bible Baby, was just diagnosed with terminal brain cancer over the Thanksgiving holiday.

He has decided to forgo all treatment, so death is imminent. We’ve been told he has a matter of months, although now he feels and looks great, so we are hoping for more time.

Don and I have been quite close over the years, especially after the suicide of big my sister, Donna, my "Songbird" and his little sister, best friend & music partner. After Donna’s death, Don was never quite the same.

Together, we deeply shared this pain and we've shared the passion for music all our lives.

Our Aunt Sally and I are the only family he has in the New York area, so therefore with love and honor we are taking over the care for his final days with our hands and heart.

By Don’s request, I will take him to Florida this week to say goodbye to our parents and 3 other brothers. We’ll celebrate the holiday and his birthday on December 23rd.

Then, we will return to NYC where I will make sure he is comfortable with hospice care until his time comes.

I need time here to set my brother up properly, as his peace and comfort are my only concern right now.

Then I will fulfill my honor and duty to carry the torch of music for Don, Donna and all of you who help us keep it burning.

In light of all of this, and after learning that pop sensation Lady Gaga, whom regardless of your taste in music is undeniably talented, calls her audience her "Little Monsters."

I love it. I started to think: "What I would I call all of my dear friends who support our shows and music all over the world?"

As you know, our last tour was "The Church of Love" tour and the upcoming tour is the "Love To Beg" tour.

Therefore, I thought maybe I'd call you guys my "Lovers". I mean that in the most soulful sense!

The idea came to me after many of you in Germany & Holland, who already received this news last week, showed me such love and support. Thank you dearly for your comforting notes to me.

It also seems to fit right in with the experience we all share together at our shows. So, I hope you'll consider keeping the love alive for us all.

While I'll miss many of you in January, I will see all of you at some point during the year. The tour will now start in Erfurt, Germany on Feb. 4th, for 4 weeks. Then I'll come home for a bit to spend more time with my brother before heading out again.

Until then ... May we all live today like there is no tomorrow.

Love, Peace and Joy to You All,

Dana
